NJ coach: Run a culture boot camp in the spring

Jim Delaney has coached at High Point High (N.J.) for two stints totaling 11 seasons. Since his return to High point at the start of the 2014 season, he has established a North 1, Group 3 contender. He recently shared his plans for building culture this offseason.

What is the No. 1 goal for your team this spring?

“To continue to build our culture and manage the still lingering Covid restrictions.”

Share one activity that you utilize to reinforce your team’s culture.

“We run a boot camp in the late spring that focuses on leadership and accountability.”

What coaching apps do you use most often?

“Hudl.”

If you could snap your fingers and be gifted one new product for your football program, what would it be?

“A quality end zone camera.”

What is one change you’ve made to your strength and conditioning program in the last year?

“Incorporating snatch.”

If you could have a cup of coffee with one football coach (living or deceased) who would it be?

“Bill Bellichick.”
