FIVE TIPS FOR OPERATING A SOLID HIGH SCHOOL WEBSITE
Delegate Authority. “A head coach has too much on his plate,” Columbus’ Chris Merritt said. Solution: Find an assistant or someone else in the program to take responsibility for website updates.
Include the Basics. Post your new schedule as soon as it is available. Make sure you have bios for all your coaches. Update your rosters (varsity and J.V.), and include height, weight and year in school for each player. Finally, post the results of your games quickly.
Don’t Forget Your History. Post year-by-year records and statistics as far back as the information is available.
Keep Alumni Involved. Have a section on your site where you can brag about graduates of your program who have gone on to play at higher levels or have accomplished notable careers.
Be Accessible. The head coach should have his e-mail address posted so he can be responsive to college coaches, or anyone else who wants to make contact.
